08 March 2005

Delta Air Lines may sell its regional subsidiaries, Atlantic Southeast and Comair, to SkyWest, according to SkyWest executives. Michael Kraupp, the airline's VP finance, told investors that SkyWest was interested in acquiring either or both of the regional carriers. Delta Air Lines confirmed that its chief executive, Gerald Grinstein, was considering selling some of the airline's assets to reduce its debt burden. SkyWest already operates regional services for Delta under the Delta Connection brand. Delta acquired the two carriers for $2.9 billion.
