LCAL goes the 787 route

Dubai-based lessor LCAL is already convinced by the 787 and the role of new aircraft in protecting the environment.

What came first, the chicken or the egg? Thankfully in aviation most things start with an aircraft, including LCAL, the Dubai-based lessor that has based its conception on that of the 787. It is so convinced by Boeing's latest aircraft that founder Clive Joy decided to make it the first of the company's aircraft orders.
Stephen Clarke, president and chief operating officer, is equally convinced. "The 787 is a composite airplane capable of reducing CO2 emissions and lowering maintenance costs," he says. "The other key thing about the airplane is its expected 35-year economic lifecycle."
