AerCap thought to be buying Genesis Lease

NYSE-listed AerCap (NYSE: AER) looking to acquire Genesis Lease Limited (NYSE: GLS). An Airfinance Journal exclusive by Alasdair Whyte.

AerCap, the listed lessor, is believed to be planning to buy rival listed lessor Genesis Lease, with a bid expected on Wednesday.

 

Neither company would confirm the story.

 

Genesis Lease owns 54 aircraft worth about $1.6 billion and had a market capitalisation of $239.5 million when shares closed on Friday September 11. Its closing share price was $6.92 a share. AerCap will swap shares with one market source said that...
