BA chief executive Willie Walsh expects the long-awaited merger with Spanish carrier Iberia to be completed by year-end and is also eyeing up a bid for bmi from Lufthansa.

The BA chief was speaking after the launch of the airline’s new business-only transatlantic service on Tuesday, reports The Times.
