The US Department of Transportation will grant antitrust immunity to a global alliance between American Airlines and four international airlines in exchange for slots at London’s Heathrow Airport.

The US Dot tentatively approved the trans-Atlantic antitrust immunity (ATI) request on Saturday, February 14. The ATI request – submitted in August 2008 – includes Oneworld alliance members American Airlines, British Airways, Iberia Airlines, Finnair and Royal Jordanian Airlines.
