Not only have the capital markets returned for aircraft leasing companies, but also there is still private equity out there looking to invest in the profitable sector.
Think back to the bidding process for International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC) in early 2009. Not only was there a tremendous amount of interest to invest in the lessor, owned by American International Group, but also there were four serious contenders in the final round before the selling process blew up.
