Virgin still bidding for bmi

Virgin Atlantic has confirmed they have made a bid and are still negotiating after Lufthansa and IAG announced they had reached a preliminary agreement.

British Midlands International (bmi) has been for sale for some time now.
Two weeks ago International Airlines Group (IAG) and Lufthansa announced that they had reached a preliminary agreement over the sale of bmi. The deal is still subject to several conditions, including a binding purchase agreement, further due diligence and regulatory clearances. Both IAG and Lufthansa say the transaction will be completed by the first quarter of 2012.
